Family Trip
Last month we went on our first family getaway.. It was for one night and 2 hrs away (which is huge for us when traveling with a toddler and newborn). We tried out a resort/spa with a water park in Niagara Falls. It was a wonderfully pleasant surprise! The drive was painless, considering we stopped once on the trip there and minimal whining from both kids in total. Ericka looooooved the water park, arcade, and visiting the Falls. And Evan even enjoyed a bit of water fun at the resort! All in all, the trip was so much fun for us and it was nice to get away, even for just a day.Americana Resort & Spa |

Evan
Recently, Evan had his 4 month routine check up! He is progressing well and growing like a weed! Well, that's an understatement! When the doctor checked his weight, we were more than surprised to find out he was weighing in at 19.4 lbs (waay up from 16.3 lbs at 2 months lol) and he was measuring in at 28 inches long. In terms of percentile, for his age.. He's at the 97th percentile for his weight and 100th percentile for his height! Holy mother! Needless to say, our jaws dropped from the news. We knew Evan was a big boy, we just didn't know the numbers! The doctor reassured us that Evan isn't obese or overweight but rather proportioned for his height. Phew!
Evan has also moved to his own crib already. This is MUCH sooner in comparison to Ericka's crib progress. She didn't leave our bed until 7 months even though we tried several times at 4 and 5 months to make that transition with her. She would wake herself and scream as soon as she was put down in her crib. Evan is a complete opposite! He loves his crib and having his own space (and so do we! Hooray for having our bed 'back'). What a relief Evan has adjusted well on this transition!
Our little Buddha is also a pro at rolling back and forth, from his tummy to back and back to tummy. And he loves jumping and doing a jig in his jumperoo! Fun times ahead!
Ericka
And an update on Ericka... She is fully potty trained!! Day and night! She's been wearing big girl underwear since the middle of July and we haven't had an accident yet! (She had totally dry diapers and pull ups even on our family getaway!!)I must say.. I quite enjoy having back that pleasant smell in our hallway now that her dirty diapers no longer haunt our diaper genie! Plus, her bum looks less bunched up with a diaper or pull up underneath her shorts and dresses! :)
"Etta" (as she calls herself right now) is also playing soccer (I use the term very loosely) with some of her buddies at a local park. Honestly, it's just a social gathering for the parents while the kids run around the grass chasing balls, butterflies or each other and then having a freezie afterwards to beat the heat! LoL It's great fun and a great way to get the toddler moving around in the fresh air!
Ericka is also 2 1/2 years old now!! Where has the time gone? What an amazing ride it's been watching my little princess grow from a baby to the crazy fun toddler she is.
Finally, here is a recent picture of the two of them, monkeying around on the bed! I just adore this! Evan and Ericka love each other so much and you can tell when they are around each other. Evan can't take his eyes off his sister, and Ericka can't keep her dirty toddler hands off him either! haha
